The next big American holiday is just around the corner. Independence day commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence, that took place on July 4, 1776. This document declared the Americas freedom and independence from Great Britain.
Ask most young American what the 4th of July stands for and the answer you’ll probably receive is fireworks, blockbuster movies and family barbecues. Many of todays youth enjoy the freedoms of these United States of America without any thought of the lives and blood that was shed to ensure them.
