Both Mansfield and Bridgeton have beautiful bridges

Each small towns part of the Covered Bridge Festival has its own flavor. Rockvilles courthouse is wonder. Rockvilles town square is wonderful place to experience local color. Both Mansfield and Bridgeton have beautiful bridges, as well as working mills. And Mansfield, which has the merchants by far, has everything from handcrafts to hardware. The Bridgeton bridge was burned by an arsonist only few years but the community rallied to raise funds for local craftsmen to build new bridge based on the original blueprints.. Bridgeton is especially known for more artistic collection of wares.

Bridge History The White

It is covered with white vertical tongue&groove board siding on both the sides and the portals, sheet metal roof, and deck with lengthwise vertical planking in the tire track area laid over diagonal crosswise planking. Bridge History The White Bridge is the longest of the Queenpost structures located within Greene County.

If one wanted to cross the creek with buggy or wagon, you had to ford the creek even through at times the water was too deep to permit crossing at all. With the exception of the state survey which determined the bridge was constructed around 1919. Charles Morris, resident of the area who was born in remembers the White Bridge being built when he was young boy and said that prior to the building of the bridge, there was foot log across the creek.
