Halloween is indeed celebrated in many areas of the world. Do you ever know why Halloween is celebrated? Why different Halloween costumes are connected with this celebration? The history of Halloween in point of fact goes much further back than one might think. It’s usually thought that it began about 2000 years ago with the ancient Celts. The primary Halloween costumes consisted mostly of faces blackened with soot. As time passed by, costumes would become more complicated, simply because people probably accumulated clothes and materials that they had used.

As years passed, people began to be dressed in costumes more for fun than for disguise. The Christians accepted Halloween traditions; on the other hand in order to do so, it had to be looked upon as a celebration instead of a way of warding off evil spirits. Many of the Halloween costumes that represent those early beliefs and traditions carry on today. On Halloween, we always perceive ancient reminders of the beginnings of Halloween.

There are bounty of ghost, ghouls and goblins ringing our door bells and lots of frightening black cats pasted in windows. These creepy symbols are now portrayed as part of the fun for the Halloween celebration.
Halloween has now become a time of celebration and a time of fun. People adore dressing up during this season, and looking forward to it as the holiday gets closer. Conceivably there is still some aspect of disguise involved, as we feel that we can be somebody else according to our preferences if only for just for one day. Halloween costumes are now as diverse as the candies that kids obtain in their bags every year. There are many characters that become visible on this day and you can be anything you desire! According to your choice, you can be a sexy nun, pirate, or whatever you have always wanted to be.
Not all and sundry knows about the origins of Halloween, but knowing how it started and why traditions have been passed down through the years in point of fact adds to the air of mystery of the holiday.
