This year, under new ownership, more than dozen acts will grace the many stages of Sterling for the first time. Renaissance and Celtic style music fill the landscape with airs of time gone by. Comedy troupes employ magic, swordplay, juggling, balancing, songs, and all manner of silliness to tease bellylaughs from their loyal crowds. And of course, daring and handsome young knights enthrall thousands at the fullcontact armored joustthe only historically authentic joust show in the country.. The 32nd Annual Sterling Renaissance Festival in Sterling, NY will be opening this year on 12th.

The groups can take part in categories Chirigotas, the main group consisting of jokers singing satirical songs Comparsas who are more poetic and elegant, Choirs and Quartets. It is unique theatrical tradition, but has many followers such as the Tournament of Roses in Pasadena, USA. But there is no organising committee to plot out its course.
Massive cardboard structures, painted in an explosion of screaming colours, start their route at Floriana on the outskirts of the capital, enter Vallettas main gate, then commence slow parade through the principal streets.
