BLUEGRASS is term that has been applied to wide variety of music. While exact definition vary among people who consider themselves BLUEGRASS fans or musicians there would be little disagreement over this broad one BLUEGRASS is string band music based on fiddle, 5string banjo, guitar, mandolin, dobro, and bass which is played and sung in styles similar to those used by Bill Monroe and his Blue Grass Boys whom we shall recognize as the Father of BLUEGRASS MUSIC.
